It's not uncommon that I have a song running through my head. However, today seemed to be different because I had this song AND video on infinite repeat today. The video itself reminds me of a NOOMA video from Rob Bell. I have below the questions it asks, which by the way, is great for reflection. Enjoy!
What makes us who we are?
Eyes? Hair? Race? Sex?
Who will you love?
Who will you trust?
Where is home?
What hardships will you face?
What hardships will you overcome?
What makes you happy?
What are your passions?
If you could do it all over again…
What would you change?
Relationships? Choices? Direction?
What experience would you relive?
What will you achieve?
What will you be remembered for?
Anberlin - Unwinding Cable Car
Emotive, unstable you are like an unwinding cable car.
Listening for voices, but it’s the choices that make us who we are.
Go your own way, even seasons have changed,
just burn those new leaves over.
So self-absorbed, you've seem to ignore,
the prayers that have already come about.
This is the correlation of salvation and love.
Don’t drop your arms; I’ll guard your heart.
With quiet words I'll lead you in.
Backing away from the problem of pain, you never had a home.
You’ve been misguided, you’re hiding in shadows for so very long.
Don’t you believe that you've been deceived that your no better than...
The hair in your eyes – it never disguised what your really thinking of.
This is the correlation of salvation and love.
Don’t drop your arms; I’ll guard your heart.
With quiet words I'll lead you in.
You're so brilliant.
Don’t soon forget.
You’re so brilliant.
Grace marked your heart.
This is the correlation of salvation and love.
Don’t drop your arms; I'll guard your heart.
With quiet words I'll lead you in and out of the dark.
Don’t drop your arms.
This is the correlation of salvation and love.
Don’t drop your arms; I’ll guard your heart.
With quiet words I'll lead you in.
