God's Beautiful Creation

This summer has been filled with countless blessings. It has been one of those times in my life where each time I don’t think things can get any better, they do. God’s presence has been incredibly clear, which is something that just provides an amazing sense of peace. His presence is one of the reasons I believe that this summer has been one of the most relaxing and enjoyable summers I’ve had in the last several years. It has been a summer filled with more lessons than a semester filled with challenging classes could ever bring.

One of the things God has continually reminded me of this summer is the beauty of his creation. This beauty is something I often take for granted. I find that it is so easy to grow accustomed to my surroundings and forget about all of the wonderful things that make them up. I’m not just talking about freshly-cut green grass, white fluffy clouds, and mountains gleaming in the distance. I’m also talking about friends who make me laugh or challenge me to think in new ways and the countless opportunities God puts in my path so that I can glorify him.

Flying half way across the country to a place where I didn’t know a single person really gave me a new perspective on the extent of what God’s creation contains. The more I think about it, the more I understand that my perception of this wonderful place, and more importantly God’s magnificence, is limited or incomplete. I guess it all comes down to the fact that God is infinite. He is infinitely perfect. I can look closer and closer at God and I can develop into a Christian that follows the example of Jesus more and more every day, but there will always be more that I can examine and always more that I can learn. The fact that God has given me this opportunity to learn and serve him when I deserve nothing fills my life with a passion that nothing else could ever inspire.
